Group Ride Leaders
Need volunteers for Bend, Redmond, and Sisters.
Group Ride Leaders Wanted – Bend, Redmond, and Sisters
The Bicycle Community is looking for volunteer Group Ride Leaders to help organize and lead regular weekend rides in Bend, Redmond, and Sisters.
Whether you're an experienced ride leader or simply enjoy helping others discover great routes, we'd love to hear from you.
What Does a Ride Leader Do?
For a scheduled weekend ride, responsibilities include:
- Helping determine a convenient meet-up location and start time
- Planning a ride route that is appropriate for the group
- Posting ride details in Club Notes, including:
- Ride location
- Start time
- Distance and pace information
- RWGPS route link (if available)
- Deciding whether the ride will be a No-Drop Ride or a ride where participants are expected to maintain the posted pace
- Maintaining a simple sign-up list so riders know who is attending
- Leading the ride on the day of the event
Shared Responsibility
We're not looking for one person to do it all.
Our goal is to have multiple ride leaders in each area so responsibilities can be shared throughout the season. Even leading a ride once every few weeks can make a big difference and help keep our cycling community active and welcoming.
Why Volunteer?
- Help grow local cycling opportunities
- Meet new riders
- Share your favorite routes
- Encourage safe and enjoyable group riding
- Support the cycling community in Bend, Redmond, and Sisters
If you're interested in serving as a Group Ride Leader, please contact us through the Bicycle Community website or speak with one of the current ride organizers.
