Getting Started with TFOL

TFOL can feel large at first, so this guide breaks it into small steps. Start with one card at a time.

Member menu and quick actions

The top bar gives you quick access to the most important tools on TFOL. If you see Guest, you are not logged in yet.

  1. Look at the very top of the page.
  2. Find Guest, Log-in, and Register.
  3. Click Log-in.
  4. Use Back to return.

What happens

You will be taken to a page with that allows members to log-in to TFOL.

Why this matters

The top bar helps you move around TFOL quickly and gives you access to login, registration, sorting, and page controls.

Main site sections

The navigation menu helps you move between the major parts of TFOL. On a phone, you may need to tap the menu icon first.

You will open the full story page, where you can read more and explore related content.

This is the main way to explore TFOL content as a guest or member.

See public stories by one person

Each story shows the name of the member who posted it. Clicking that name lets you explore that person’s public content.

Try this

  1. Open any story or look at a story card.
  2. Click the member name.

What happens

You will go to that member’s page and see their public stories and images.

Why this matters

This helps you discover more content from people whose work you enjoy.

Browse one topic at a time

Stories are often connected to menus. A menu is a way of grouping related stories together.

Try this

  1. Look for the words Posted In.
  2. Click the menu name next to it.

What happens

You will see more stories from that menu or category.

Why this matters

Menus help you stay inside one topic instead of jumping around the whole site.

Control how stories appear

The Sort page lets you change how stories are displayed. This can make the page easier to read and more visually pleasing.

Try this

  1. Click Sort in the top bar.
  2. Choose a display order like Newest, Oldest, or Random.
  3. Return to the page and click Refresh.

Unlock member features

Guests can browse public content, but members can create stories, upload images, and build personal menus.

  1. Click Register.

✍️ Creating a Story

Add your own content

Once you are logged in, you can create stories and upload images to share with others.

Basic steps

  1. Go to the story creation page.
  2. Enter a title.
  3. Add your story text.
  4. Upload an image if desired.
  5. Save your story.

Your story becomes part of your content and may appear in menus and story grids.
