It took awhile, but I soon found something quite profound in this quilt.  The pattern of this quilt at first seemed quite simple.  But the longer I viewed it, the more complexity and beauty I saw in it.  I had never really been interested in abstract art.  But this quilt encouraged me to look at it with a new pair of glasses.  The juxtaposition of the shapes to one another, the slight variations in color and density made me appreciate the creativity and thought behind this work of art.  It was athestically pleasing to the eye.

It made me want to look at other things in my life with those new glasses to discover things I had previously overlooked.
